Lend your power

South Africa is on the brink of defining its energy future. Right now we’re too reliant on the fossil fuel-generated electricity that makes up the bulk of our carbon emissions. We need more renewable energy in the mix to reduce our emissions and change climate change.

In 2016, despite the success of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP), Eskom refused to sign the full amount of contracts which were awarded as part of the programme.

This effectively put the brakes on renewable energy potential and its many benefits for South Africans.

Help us as we call for a safe and sustainable future by signing our petition asking Eskom to lift the brakes on renewable energy plans.

Seize this chance to inspire action from friends, family and peers.

Remember, also, to celebrate Earth Hour with us by turning off the lights for one hour on 25 March 2017 at 8:30pm as a symbolic gesture against climate change.
